WHO WE ARE

JUNI is a one-of-a-kind fashion label rooted in reinvention. Each piece is crafted from vintage, secondhand, or deadstock materials, giving new life to forgotten curtains, cast-off quilts, old linens, and more through tailoring and imagination. What others discard, we transform into unique, meaningful pieces, producing them as one-of-a-kind pieces or in highly limited runs within the USA.

Founded by NYC-based designer Juniper Rakhman Gerardi, JUNI began as a personal exploration in sustainability, storytelling, and self-expression. Juniper’s work draws upon a deep respect and knowledge of historic sewing, weaving, and knitting techniques, as well as a refusal to follow traditional fashion binaries.

JUNI garments are genderless in nature, and grounded in historical and modern silhouettes alike. With a casual, workwear edge, we make our camp shirts, workwear, and patchwork coats (and future designs!) with every detail considered. From the fabrics and notions chosen to construction details, everything about our clothing is made to last and become your favorite piece.

Whether stitched from an 1890s wool coverlet, hand-woven linen tablecloths, or precious notions of silk, every JUNI piece is made in the U.S. with care, purpose, and an eye towards the future.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

At JUNI, we believe that clothing is a vehicle for memory.

We believe fashion can be both ethical and expressive. We believe in making things slowly, thoughtfully, and with hands that care. We believe in reducing our clothing consumption, mending the clothes we have, and innovative end of life solutions for textile products. We believe in ethical, made-in-USA labor, and that sewing and garment-making are crafts worth preserving.

We honor the materials we use not just for what they are — but for what they’ve survived. We don’t hide from the past - we revel in it.
