Each of the shirts in this collection is named for a historic hub of the American textile industry. With this, we honor and sustain the legacy of our rich fabric and clothing traditions.
Perched on the banks of the Mississippi, Muscatine earned its nickname as the “Pearl Button Capital of the World.” While its textile output was modest, it stitched its legacy into shirts, collars, and linens fastened with iridescent buttons made from river mussel shells. Muscatine’s industrial history is delicate and dazzling—just like the shimmer of a button in the light.
